A time to explore....
Night 1 in Mangaweka at The
Logs, a self-contained log cabin right in the village.
Try out the pub - great burgers and facinating local customs
inspiring an explorer's interest...
Next day, start with a hearty
breakfast at The River Centre then head off to
Ruahine Adventure Horsetreks for a half day ride through
the base of the Ruahine Ranges where you can explore native
forests, bird life and enjoy prestine views. After you d-saddle,
back to Mangaweka for lunch and gearing up for your next exploration
through old railway tunnels left behind. Mangaweka reserve
is a beautiful way to see the history of this old railway
town, especially from above! Off to Mairenui to enjoy a lovely
dinner and explore your facinating accommodation - The
Retreat!
Sunday morning, gear up for
The Boulders! This special
trip takes you on the Rangitikei River to a mystical concretionary
boulders garden. Have lunch and explore this beautiful native
forest.
You should be ready to head
home by 4pm.
